Evangeline Lilly of the Lost cast and her recently augmented family turned up at the Vancouver International Airport on Tuesday. Lilly’s son with boyfriend Norman Kali is only two months old, but the actress is back into the shape with no hint at a recent pregnancy on her waistline. She was brisk as a bee in a button-up blouse, a skirt on a belt and brown boots. Having stowed away their baggage into a car she, her production assistant boyfriend and their son got on their way. Lilly hasn’t revealed the boy’s name yet.
Considering motherhood her top priority, the 31-year-old actress hasn’t been around much for the past two years, but now she is back in front of the camera again shooting in Peter Jackson’s oncoming rendering of the J.R.R. Tolkien classic The Hobbit. Lilly will be playing the part of Tauriel, a female elf from Mirkwood, but her role in the story is kept in the dark. Jackson only let drop that there will be no romantic liaison with Legolas. He referred to Lilly as a “talented and compelling actress” who is sure to make an excellent Sylvan Elf.
The Hobbit is planned to come in two installments, the first, An Unexpected Journey, to premiere on December 14, 2012, and the sequel, shot back-to-back with the beginning, to follow it exactly a year later.
