Mrs. Farebrother claims that Sir Elton refused to have anything to do with her since June 2008 after they had had an altercation. According to several sources, the Sun reports, the reason behind the clash was an offensive remark addressed by Farebrother to David Furnish. The celebrity’s mother declined to comment on the scene that had led to the fallout. She said it was “a painful subject” and the main thing about it is that her son had broken up with her completely.

She had to admit that there was something not very pleasant that she said to Furnish, 48, but insisted there was much more to that – on which she didn’t want to expand.

Back in 2005 Mrs. Farebrother turned up in Windsor for Sir Elton and Furnish’s civil partner ceremony, but she was conspicuously absent at the welcome of little Zachary on Christmas Day, an event for which Furnish’s parents flew over from Canada to California. Colin Bryan, spokesman for the survey commissioner Drayton Manor Theme Park, remarked that while the summer holidays have always been trying times for all members of a family, when parents have to provide entertaining occupations for the kids, 84 seems to be a bit too much.

His idea for stifling continuous arguing is to plan holiday activities beforehand and making a timetable ensuring that all members have something to do… Although it may be difficult to abide by one later.

Researchers looked at the data on over 4,000 teenagers aged between 14 and 16 years relating to their pastime and relationships with peers and parents.

The study was conducted in two stages, the first one was in 1988, and the second one finished just recently. It has emerged that in 80-s every extra hour of watching TV increased the problems in relationships with parents by 13 per cent, and with peers – by 24 per cent.

Today, this harmful trend persists, the more time teenagers spend watching TV or using computer, the worse their relationships with parents and friends.

Particularly, Health reports that every hour of watching TV increases the risk of developing weak emotional bond with parents by 4 per cent. This figure reaches 5 per cent when teenagers use computer.

An article in Pediatrics says that mothers who were subjected to spanking and other forms of violence in their childhood spank their children more than mothers who were not so mistreated. They also go on with it for a longer time.

Of those women who didn’t experience violent treatment when children only one of every ten confessed that she resorted to spanking.

The study statistics show that approximately 19 percent of mothers believe in spanking as a disciplinary measure and 14 percent practice what they preach.

The researches suggest that considering the influence of violent treatment on mothers’ ways to mishandle their children, health care professionals should inquire into family relationships and mothers’ past lives with a view of amending their attitude to bringing up children.
