It’s 4 weeks since Luca Cruz Comrie was born, and 4 weeks of Hilary Duff’s passionate involvement in motherhood. Well, Duff keeps proving she is ready for all challenges there can be!

One of the “really wonderful” challenges is breastfeeding, shared the 24-year-old mother with Us Weekly on Tuesday, but nothing beats the feeling of acute love – “incredible amount of love” – when she wakes up in the morning and knows she is going to see her baby.

Duff feels so much love that she wants to share it, so she has joined the Johnson’s Baby Cares Save the Children support campaign organized to furnish Johnson’s Care Kits to needy families with little children.

It was a logical decision to make for Duff, her having been helped along when growing up with Johnson’s Baby products – like millions of babies like herself. “Now that I’m a mom, I’m inspired by initiatives to help other moms and babies throughout the world,” the Lizzie McGuire star said, quoting Save the Children’s statistics about 90% of children in the US living in areas with a high risk of natural disasters. No matter what may happen, families must have means that enable them to give proper care to their babies.

The Johnson’s Baby Cares campaign for Save the Children that Duff is backing up is out to raise funds for poor and disaster-stricken families and ensure their being provided with essential Johnson’s products like Johnson’s Baby Powder, Johnson’s Baby Lotion, Johnson’s Baby Shampoo, Head-to-Toe Baby Wash and Desitin.

Probably Duff can be involved in the campaign because she is getting lots of help at home from hubby Mike Comrie.

The actress gushed about Comrie who is always popping in to see if he can help with diapers and things and makes babycare additionally exciting for her. “He’s a natural,” she said, grateful for his assistance – which she certainly needs!

As soon as she could, Duff set about getting her workouts, and enrolled for SoulCycle spin classes (with Comrie’s company too!). Although she is a little longer than a week for the classes, the actress told Us, she has already become obsessed with them. The reason? The classes are only 45 minutes long, but they manage to squeeze out a lot of sweat in the time, which is a good show for any fitness workout.

Nevertheless, while doing her best to bring down the weight, Duff never means to overdo it for the sake of a quick and impressive result. She resumed her workouts because she had been missing them during her pregnancy and birth, she explained. “I need endorphins… to be a happy person,” she said, but she fully realizes the difference between regaining the pre-baby body and becoming a workout freak.

The experts from Yale University have analyzed the effect of holidays on the date of birth. They were inspired to conduct this study, when they learned the fact that many mothers wanted their baby to be born on the eve of a romantic holiday.

The most popular holiday, according to statistics, was Valentine’s Day, and the “worst” one was Halloween.

The experts have found that every year from February 5 to February 25 fertility is increased by 3.7% with the help of natural childbirth, and by 13% via cesarean childbirth.

Another interesting fact was also discovered by the scientists. It turns out that the number of births decreases at the end of October. Natural childbirth happens about 5% less often, and cesarean section is reduced by 17%.

The obtained facts go to prove that women can control not only the date of surgery, but the dates of natural childbirth as well.

Becca Levy, the author of the new study, thinks that such a term as “spontaneous labor” is no longer true. This is explained by the fact that pregnant women can easily control the beginning of labor. This is because the beginning of delivery itself is affected by the hormones, and the latter, in their turn, are influenced by the emotions that arise while waiting for the favorite holiday.

The legends about the success of many celebrities, who attended yoga classes and had a salt-free diet, are unlikely to have something to do with reality.

According to the reports from the sources associated with the elite plastic surgery of many stars, celebrities resort to the most extreme methods in order to regain their good shape.

Radical Weight Loss Methods after Childbirth Celebs Prefer

Thus, Dr. Carson Liu told in an interview with FOX that most celebrities resorted to the most extreme weight loss methods after childbirth. The doctor had very serious doubts as to whether these methods could be called healthy. Hollywood celebrities have a huge external pressure. They just have to lose weight after giving birth, and that is what is expected of them.

Strict Dieting after Childbirth

Another expert tells about such a “conventional” method: immediately after birth the star begins to starve in order to undergo liposuction as quickly as possible. This is accompanied by a procedure known among the professionals as “fat transferring”, which involves surgical removal of fat from one part of the body and its transfer to another one.

Celebrities Opt for Surgery to Get a Slim Body Again After Pregnancy

According to plastic surgeon Constantino Mendieta, most women discover that after birth their body simply does not respond to diet and exercise. Celebrities need to recover their former shape, literally, overnight. Women often have to remove the fat from the abdomen and move it to the buttocks to restore the fullness and roundness of the star rear. It works well for the women, who want to boast a flat stomach. The “good job” costs 13,000 dollars.

Extreme Breast Milk Pumping to Lose Weight

The struggle for the figure does not end here. Most of the stars, in the words of another expert, are engaged in “extreme breast milk pumping” to restore their breast shape. They pump the milk day and night. Celebrities always have a lot of empty bottles at hand.

Placenta Injections

Some even use their own placenta, which is injected daily, in a combination with low-calorie diet. The tool is effective, but also very dangerous because it can lead to colon cancer.

Healthy After-Childbirth Weight Loss Tips

Dr. Liu advises women not to resort to such extremes, but to protect their health and the health of their child. If you want to lose weight and not lose health, just be careful with what you eat, have breast-feeding when you can, and do physical exercises an hour a day. The results will not be instantaneous, but they will not be fatal and disappointing.

All people are well aware of the fact that smoking is very harmful and hurts not only the health of the smoker. Nevertheless, many women, even being in the family way, cannot get rid of this bad habit once and forever.

The experts from the University of New South Wales announced the shocking statistics. It turns out that every fifth expectant mother has the bad habit of smoking regularly, despite all the doctors’ warnings.

Fathers also treat the health of their future successors condescendingly and do not prevent pregnant mothers from smoking.

It is worth mentioning that female smokers may face the increased risk of having a child with heart disease, and the risk of the baby’s birth defects on the part of the gastric tract is three times bigger, as the scientists warn.

In addition, the toxins that cigarette smoke contains affect fertility very badly. The experts from the University of Newcastle suspect that this detrimental effect of smoking may affect more than one generation. Thus, the daughter of a non-smoking mother can have problems with fertility because of the grandmother, who was smoking…

Professor James Walker from the Harvard School of Public Health in Boston once again warns pregnant women that smoking is dangerous because of such problems, as stillbirth, deformities of the baby, and premature birth.

The experts stress that expectant mothers and their families should do everything possible to give up this bad habit at least during pregnancy.

Previously, it was thought that the woman‘s ovaries contain a limited supply of eggs, the number of which gradually decreases to menopause. There is also a reduction in their quality characteristics. However, the scientists from Harvard have managed to refute this dogma. The researchers, led by Dr. Jonathan Tilly, director of the Center for Reproductive Biology at Massachusetts General Hospital, conducted an experiment. They took the stem cells, the carriers of a unique protein DDX4, from the young woman’s ovaries, developed them in laboratory conditions to the state of immature oocytes, which were later transplanted in mice. In the body of the rodents, the cells reached the state of formed eggs that the female body produces naturally.

Dr Allan Pacey, an expert on male fertility at the University of Sheffield, told the BBC that the discovery not only denied the already established medical opinion, it provided some interesting possibilities for the preservation of fertility for women undergoing treatment for cancer or suffering from infertility.

The average age of the women, who are mothers, has grown in recent years. There are even pregnant woman, who give birth to babies at 60 years. The implantation of embryos, obtained from the fertilization of eggs of younger women, can help women to get pregnant and give birth even if their menopause has already begun.

The new study involved more than 100 women aged 50 and more, who had given birth as a result of artificial insemination. It showed, rather surprisingly, that pregnancy at that age was no more dangerous than artificial insemination at an earlier age. The study, conducted by the experts from Columbia University Medical Center (USA), is the most considerable so far.

It was found that these women faced the same risks of complications, as those who were younger. They were no more prone to premature birth and diabetes caused by pregnancy, than those, who had gone through IVF under the age of 42 years.

According to Dr. Mark Sauer, if pregnant women over the age of 50 receive the attention of specialists and undergo qualified tests, they are most likely to have a normal course of pregnancy and childbirth.

In general, it is much easier for women after 50 to bear a child than to get pregnant. In contrast to the ovary, where eggs develop and become mature and the necessary hormones are produced, the uterus, where the embryo develops, varies slightly with age. Taking hormones, women will be able to give birth to a healthy baby.

In any case, pregnancy after 50 years is very rare. Thus, the American doctors had to take the cases during over the period of 10 years to conduct their study. In 2009, the Sackler School of Medicine at Tel Aviv University found that the extreme ordinary age for a natural pregnancy was 43 years.

The women, who cut the share of animal fats and cholesterol in their diet during pregnancy, can reduce the risk of developing gestational diabetes.

The researchers from the National Institute of Child Health and Development (USA) have analyzed the data on health status, lifestyle and diet of more than 13,000 women aged 22 to 45 years. Approximately 6% of the participants of the study reported that they were diagnosed with “gestational diabetes” (diabetes of pregnant women) during pregnancy. This disease is characterized by the period of gestation, it is accompanied by a breach of carbohydrate metabolism and increases the risk of complications during pregnancy. The disease may also affect the health of the newborn baby.

After analyzing the statistics, the researchers found that the women, who liked much animal fats and foods high in cholesterol before pregnancy, had a twice higher risk of getting ill with gestational diabetes.

The experts recommend that the women, who are preparing for pregnancy, reduce the consumption of foods containing large amounts of fat and cholesterol. For example, if the number of animal fats is reduced by at least 5%, the risk of gestational diabetes is reduced by 7%.

Pregnant women, who eat lots of beef, give birth to sons, who have a low content of active sperm when they grow up. This is according to a new research.

Scientists believe that the reason can be pesticides, hormones or contaminants found in the feed for livestock. The chemicals can accumulate in the fat of animals that eat contaminated feed or grass. In addition, the cattle are regularly given hormones to stimulate their growth.

The sons of the women, who had eaten beef in large quantities (more than seven beef meals per week), demonstrated 24.3 percent below normal sperm concentration. This was stated in the article published in the journal Human Reproduction.

The Specialist Group from the University of Rochester Medical School in New York has studied the data on 387 partners of women who sought to become pregnant. The data on five U.S. cities were presented. The information on them was verified by both the mother and the father. The study was conducted between 2000 and 2005.

Of the 51 men, whose mothers were actively eating beef during pregnancy, 18% had the amount of sperm, which, according to the classification of the World Health Organization, was not enough for normal fertilization.

According to them, 60% of the women, who are taking the appropriate supplements during the course of IVF, get pregnant.

Dr. Rina Agrawal claims that the pills contain substances such as vitamins A, C, E, zinc, selenium, and folic acid that can increase fertility and that our diet usually lacks.

The scientists have tested this theory on 56 women aged 18-40 years. All of them were unsuccessfully trying to conceive a baby during the last year, using the IVF technology.

One half of the women, who participated in the experiment, received miltivitamins daily, and the other half had only pills with folic acid (which is believed to help get pregnant). As a result, it turned out that 60% of the women from the first group successfully conceived a child in the first three months. In the second group, only 25% of the women got pregnant after three months.

It might seem that if there is no pain, there is no problem. However, doctors insist that pain is necessary: it forces a woman to complete the process of birth – to strive to end it with the birth of a baby. If there is no pain, there is no desire to make an effort.

According to Doctor of obstetrics Dennis Walsh from the University of Nottingham, England, the pain during childbirth has its own advantages for both mother and baby. He emphasizes that painkillers, such as epidural, violate the natural process of psychological connection between the mother and the child.

Dr. Walsh says that labor pain often helps to regulate the time of delivery, reinforces psychological connection between the mother and the baby, and prepares the woman for motherhood responsibilities.

Over the past 20 years, the use of epidural anesthesia has doubled. In fact, it is used only on demand of women in labor, even despite the fact that the medicine increases medical risks during childbirth and despite the availability of alternative and less invasive ways to control pain symptoms.

Meanwhile, according to Dr. Walsh, the pain has positive physiological effects, allowing to set the rhythm for the contractions and activate the production of endorphins, the hormones that help to adapt to the feeling of pain.

The doctors have noted that the use of epidural anesthesia facilitates side effects, such as the need for hormone replacement therapy during labor and the use of forceps for the child to be born safely.

According to the research by Swedish doctors, one should not overuse these painkillers at least because of the fact that the risk of drug addiction among the adolescents, whose mothers received morphine drugs during labor, is five times higher.

The nervous system of the baby “remembers” the narcotic analgesic. And then, if one day the teenager gives it a try, there will develop a fast and strong addiction.

Dr. Walsh says that alternative methods of reducing pain are safer for both the mother and the newborn baby. For instance, he suggests using the technique of hypnosis, massage, yoga, and birthing pools.

It is believed that the woman, who is psychologically ready to deliver a baby, who is able to breathe properly, is well aware of all the phases of labor, who is able to control herself and is aimed at the result, can cope well without painkillers.

A new study conducted by British and American scientists shows that those women, who have been facing stress at work or in their personal life before pregnancy, are more likely to give birth to a girl rather than a boy.

Previously, the scientists have been making statements that during the period of strong stress and crises boys are less likely to be born. For instance, this tendency was observed in America immediately after the September 11 terrorist attacks. Then the number of boys born in New York City reduced considerably. The same was observed in Germany in 1991, when the former GDR stepped into the period of economic decline and political chaos. Then there was a significant decline in the number of newborn boys.

The recent study not only states the fact, but explains it as well. The reason turns out to be in the increased level of the so-called stress hormone in pregnant women, cortisol in particular. The women, who had had a higher level of cortisol before pregnancy, more often gave birth to girls. High cortisol levels must in any way impede the implantation of male embryos in the uterus. But, of course, the process of determining the sex of the expected child is controled by the chromosome set in sperm, and this fact is never going to be disputed by scientists. In addition, male embryos are more prone to miscarriages, when cortisol levels are high.

The doctors call the weight, which is far from the norm, one of the factors that prevent conception. However, scientists have found that extreme thinness does more harm to our fertility than obesity.

In recent years, there has been a constant struggle with the excess weight, the nutritionists have insisted that extra weight, in addition to other health problems and appearance, leads to difficulties in conceiving. However, these risks have never been compared with those of underweight women.

The study conducted by the American scientists showed that thin women are less likely to become pregnant than those, who are overweight, and even obese.

During the study, 2,500 women (who were trying to conceive with the help of IVF at the Fertility Center of Chicago) were divided into three groups according to their weight: very thin, normal, and obese. During eight years, though at different periods, these women were observed in the center and were trying to get pregnant.

As a result, those who belonged to the group with normal weight, got pregnant in 50% of cases. Among obese women, 45% became pregnant, and only 34% of very thin women from the group were able to conceive.

Very thin women were those with the body mass index (BMI) ranging from 14 to 18. For example, a woman with the height of 162.5 cm and the weight of 44.45 kg could have such a BMI (BMI 17).

It is known that thin women have a reduced amount of the female hormone estrogen which is often associated with infertility among excessively thin women. However, this study considered only the women, who were undergoing the IVF procedure, and all their hormones were brought back to norm. The women from all three groups produced the same number of ovules, and the problem with the conception happened at a later stage, when the fertilized ovule was implanted in the uterus. The embryo finds it more difficult to penetrate into the uterus of very thin women. That is the verdict of the scientists.

The Cryos international network of sperm banks announced that they had gotten enough donations to enable them to pick and choose, so they initiated a research and found out that most of their clients shy away from having redheaded babies.

Except for Ireland, where redheads are going strong, redheaded donors are wanted only if the woman has a penchant for auburn hair or the sterile partner has the same hair color.

According to the largest sperm banks, apart from these cases the demand for redheaded babies is practically negligible.

The idea of such a database belongs to London Sperm Clinic. In addition to a detailed description of the appearance of the donor, the questionnaires contain the information about one’s personal qualities and hobbies. When delivering their biomaterial to the Bank, the donors fill out a questionnaire and write a brief curriculum vitae explaining the reason that forced them to donate the material to the bank. By the way, most men viewed the donation as the act of philanthropy.

The staff of the clinic, in their turn, describe their impressions of the donor, and their opinion can also be seen in the questionnaire.

The Australian scientists have found that the girls, who are planning to get pregnant, must be especially careful maintaining oral hygiene in order to increase the likelihood of successful conception.

According to the results of a series of recent studies, problems with teeth and gums can have a negative impact on female fertility. Thus, the women who had gum diseases required on average two more months to get pregnant than the girls who did not have such problems.

The experiment conducted by the scientists from the University of Western Australia, in Perth, shows that it took the ladies, who were brushing their teeth and using dental floss regularly, approximately five months for the conception, while those women who were not so careful in following the rules of oral hygiene needed about seven months to get pregnant. According to Professor Roger Hart, the leading author of the study, it proves that the women who want to become mothers, should necessarily consult their dentist.

The doctors explain the connection between women’s tooth health and their fertility by the fact that periodontal disease leads to the accumulation of a huge number of different pathogens in the mouth. These pathogens cause bad breath and may spread all over the body due to bleeding gums. As a result, other inflammatory reactions may start, and that will have a negative impact on the process of implantation of the embryo in the uterus.

It might seem a paradox that many women, who lead an active lifestyle and take care of their health, still cannot become mothers.

Norwegian scientists got interested in this problem and conducted a study involving nearly 3000 women. The research took into account all the circumstances of the participants’ life.

The conclusion was unexpected: pregnancy in most cases was prevented by excessive involvement in fitness. Intensive training in gyms to keep fit and to facilitate the flow of future pregnancy turned against the women and their ability to become a mother. The doctors still have not figured out the reasons for the relationship between physical activity and infertility, but they can say with confidence that it is necessary to reduce the intensity of physical exercises just a little, and in a year the reproductive function will be restored.

So all is good in moderation even such a useful thing as fitness.

A girl who will never get sick with breast cancer was born in the clinic of London’s University College Hospital. Her parents and doctors have taken all possible measures to avoid this disease.

Three generations of women in her father’s family had the defective gene and got ill with cancer after the age of 20. The scientists say that the women with this gene may develop breast cancer with a probability of 50% to 80%.

The embryos resulting from artificial insemination were subjected to genetic analysis. As a result, the mother received the embryo without the defective gene – the so-called BRCA 1 which is responsible for inheriting the risk of breast cancer.

Thus, the British couple was the first pair who could adjust the genetics of their unborn baby. As a result, subsequent generations of this family will get rid of genetic predisposition to this tumor.

According to the attending physician Paul Serhal from University College Hospital in London, there is no guarantee that the child will never have breast cancer because this disease can develop without any hereditary predisposition. However, the scientists have thus managed to significantly reduce the risk of breast cancer.

A study has been published that reveals a link between caffeine intake and delayed conception in women; in certain cases too much caffeine can even result in infertility due to its adverse influence on the reproductive system.

Boffins from the University of Nevada fed caffeine to mice, whose reproductive system resembles that of humans, and found that it produces a particular effect on the fallopian tubes making their smooth muscles more relaxed and loose.

When the egg is to get transported, explains author Sean Ward in the article published in the British Journal of Pharmacology, it’s up to the fallopian tube muscles to provide the necessary impetus – but caffeine interferes with the proper contractions, with the effect that the common run of pregnancy gets disrupted or the woman can develop ectopic pregnancy, that is the embryo is unable to find its way past the fallopian tube and begins to develop there.

It helps understand the processes that lead to ectopic pregnancy, which is “an extremely painful and potentially life-threatening situation in which embryos get stuck and start developing inside a woman’s fallopian tube.”

The experiments on mice, as Ward points out, revealed a lot about how the intake of caffeine tampers with the natural process of child-bearing in women, and go to show that a high consumption of caffeine containing drinks lowers the chance of a healthy and successful pregnancy.

Besides, the new insight into the functionality of the fallopian tubes can give doctors valuable hints towards a better treatment of pelvic inflammation and sexually transmitted diseases.

Numerous studies of psychologists reveal that women are twice as likely to become a victim of anxiety than men. In various surveys, women always note the increased level of anxiety concerning all aspects of human life: starting with the criminal situation and ending with politics.

Psychologists have always pointed out that women control their own emotions worse than men, and are prone to excessive self-criticism. Due to such statistics, many researchers have accepted the theory of Larry Summers, who says that women are just inherently programmed to be more nervous. This idea has irked many women in the psychological (and other) circles.

New evidence suggests that modern ladies are absolutely erroneously accused of being too emotional. It is a consequence of cultural trap. It is society and parents that willingly or unwillingly make ordinary girls become hysterical women. According to the research conducted by Michelle Craske, an expert in this field, during the first days of life male infants show an increased level of anxiety. Until the age of eleven, boys and girls are equally susceptible to anxiety, but at the age of 15 years, in contrast, girls are six times more prone to “bouts” of bad mood than boys. The researchers note that a significant difference in the upbringing of boys and girls affects their behavior in adulthood.

Parents will comfort the girl, who has a bleeding knee, and the boy will be told to bear the pain quietly, as a man would do. In addition, cultural prejudice treats boys as more capable and having such qualities as courage and perseverance in achieving their goals, while the girls are usually defended against any challenges. The researchers have concluded that teens experience a “hormonal storm” which equally influences the behavior of boys and girls, but emotions and concerns are perceived differently by the children of different sexes.

Not so long ago the New York gallery gave all the volunteering food experimenters an opportunity to try the unusual cheese made of women’s breast milk.

According to the author of this idea, Miriam Simun, the post-graduate student at the New York University, this product is a temporary trend because in future she plans to deal with the question of ethics of modern biotechnology, and the first step in this direction should be the revolutionary type of cheese produced by her.

As noted by Miriam Simun, the cheese made of women’s breast milk is a starting-point for an active discussion of this topic. From her point of view, some people like the product, and some of them find it disgusting. Mrs. Simun found three breastfeeding mothers who agreed to have their milk turned into cheese. She scanned the mammary glands of the women to diagnose possible diseases, and then the milk was subjected to pasteurization, and finally cheese was made of it.

3 kinds of cheese are presented in the gallery, and their taste depends on the predominance of a particular kind of food in the diet of a lactating woman. The cheese is of great demand, and many speak about its useful properties. Simun hopes that her cheese will make people think about the future use of resources of the human body – blood, hair, and sperm – to help those who will need it.

The U.S. scientists have found that special molecules that a woman’s breast milk contains may help determine how high the risk of cancer for this particular woman is.

According to the experts from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, who have conducted this research, the breast milk contains genes which may be associated with the risk of transmitting hereditary breast cancer. Furthermore, this method of analysis is among the simplest and cheapest ones.

The experiment involved 250 women who gave samples of breast milk. The scientists studied its DNA molecules to determine whether there were any changes in the genes. In addition, all the participants of the experiment were biopsied so that the tumor, if any, could be undoubtedly identified. As it eventually turned out, the women whose biopsy results were positive had certain components in their breast milk which would help identify symptoms of cancer.

The specialists point out that this method of diagnosis may be one of the most effective non-invasive methods of determining breast cancer of all currently known. For example, the widespread mammography, which is regularly recommended to all ladies of mature age, is not effective for diagnozing young women who have not reached their menopause, especially if they are breastfeeding the child. As a result, tumor is sometimes difficult to find when using traditional methods.

The team of scientists from Weill Cornell Medical College have found that disorders of the immune system may be the cause of problems with conception.

A series of experiments conducted on several species of mammals has shown that immunotherapy can help control fertility. As pointed out by the researchers, the data obtained in the course of the study can be applied to human beings because the mechanisms of their immune system and the process of formulating necessary pregnancy hormones are almost identical to the mammals tested.

So, as a result of certain diseases, the body may produce appropriate antibodies, which reduce the production of progesterone in women and testosterone in men. According to the leader of the research, Professor of biology Bridge Saxena, in the nearest future the scientists are planning to use the data they have obtained to begin the development of a special drug that helps to control the process of reproduction of cats, dogs or other pets.

After proving the efficiency, safety, and reversibility of such interference, the techniques of immunotherapy based on the use of specific recombinant proteins will be used in the treatment of disorders of the reproductive system in humans, as the dostor says. For example, it can be helpful in the case of excessive androgens in women which is a frequent cause of their inability to get pregnant.

The scientists from the University of St Andrews and Edinburgh University (UK) have managed to explain why women have more difficulties with getting pregnant as they get older. It turns out that by the age of 30 years 90% of women’s ovarian reserve is already exhausted.

Developing ovules continues at the age of 30 and 40, but the stock of potential ovules in the ovaries is almost completely exhausted by this time. And though the body chooses the best cells from the remaining number, their quality deteriorates with age which complicates conception and increases the risk of having an unhealthy baby.

At birth, the girls’ ovaries contain about 300,000 potential cells. However, there can be exceptions: some infant girls have up to 2 million cells in their ovaries, while some others have only 35 thousand. In any case, their number is declining faster than it has been thought before. By the age of 30 years, a woman has on average about 12% of the original stock remaining, and by 40 years, she has only 3%. Thus, many ladies are greatly mistaken when they think that they keep being fertile until they produce ovules.

The researchers believe that their findings will help predict the time of early menopause among women and determine the most favorable period for the removal of ovules from the patients’ cancer-stricken ovaries and their subsequent freezing. The doctors also advise women to undergo regular fertility checks in order to avoid problems with conception.

According to the statistics, 1/5 of all pregnancies end in miscarriage, and 0.5% of pregnancies result in stillbirth. It is believed that women quickly overcome the psychological trauma, followed by the birth of a healthy baby.

However, the scientists have analyzed the data obtained from 13,000 of British women and got to know that 2,800 of those who had had a miscarriage or a stillborn baby, in most cases were worried and experienced depression during the next pregnancy and even after the birth of the baby. A lot of women had been in a depressive state for 3 years after the birth of a healthy infant.

Professor Jean Golding says the study is important for the family members of the women who have lost a child, since they tend to think a woman quickly forgets the problem. The received results show that it is different.

Dr. Emma Robertson Blackmore from Rochester University in the United States adds that the discovery is of great importance for physicians since, assessing the risk of prenatal or postnatal depression among women, they usually do not take into account other risk factors such as family history of depression, stressful life events or lack of social support.
