It’s a Girl for Hugh Grant

Hugh Grant has never been married – but that didn’t prevent him from fathering a child or delighting in it!

At his 51 he became a first-time dad, as Us Weekly heard from an inside source. Grant’s baby, a girl, was born early last month, the information that was later confirmed by the British actor’s rep.

The rep added that it was an unexpected turn of events since the girl is a love-child of “a fleeting affair,” and after all the actor “could not be happier or more supportive.” He maintains a friendly relationship with the mother and they have settled everything between them. It hasn’t been given out exactly who the mother is.

Vogue reported that Grant was ready to become a father back in 2007, citing Warren Beatty and saying that a baby to take care of and delight in was the best thing that could happen to him, much as he adored himself.

The Brit was known to have been dating Elizabeth Hurley for 13 years until 2000 when they broke up quietly. At the time he talked to Vogue he was dating writer Jemima Kahn, and in April this year he had a liaison with Chinese actress Tinglan Hong.

Us’s source tells that Grant is “beaming about his daughter” and is ready to take care of her though he is not living with the child’s mother.
