Kate Hudson Gave Birth to a Boy

Kate Hudson waited until the last moment – and was proved wrong in her assumptions. She had chosen not to know the sex of the oncoming baby, but something had told her that she would have a girl. Then she came and actually delivered a boy!

The 32-year-old actress is now the mother of two, having son Ryder Russell, 7 and a half, by her ex-husband Chris Robinson of Black Crowes. Divorced from 2007, after dating New York Yankees’ Alex Rodriguez she got in with Matthew Bellamy, 33, the Muse frontman. The news of their mutual baby was out in January, and in April the two got engaged after a year together.

The boy is Bellamy’s first child. Hudson’s rep informed PEOPLE that she delivered on Saturday in Los Angeles and the child is healthy.
