Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves are Blessed with a Girl

Well, it’s the second time Matthew McConaughey, 40, and Camila Alves, 26, declined the possibility of learning the coming child’s sex beforehand, and though he wrote that their instincts told them the answer, he never revealed it, keeping his fans guessing. Now we all know the answer – it’s a girl!

The eagerly expected “answer” arrived on Sunday, Jan. 3, right after midday, weighing 7 lbs., 7 oz. Of which fact Matthew McConaughey informed the world at once on his website.

The little one was named Vida, that is, life. “We are both truly honored to welcome this little lady into our family,” Matthew wrote, adding profuse thanks to those who expressed good wishes. Camila Alves is recovering fast.

Camila’s pregnancy was announced in the blog in July, with Matthew overjoyed at the event. “We pulled off the greatest miracle in the world one more time,” he shared. “The future looks bright as the family grows.”

The couple have been together since 2006 had already given birth to son Levi who is now 17 months old.
