Rep Confirms Penelope Cruz is Halfway into Pregnancy

There were hints at it happening out pretty soon after Penelope Cruz, 36, married Spanish actor Javier Bardem, 41, in the Bahamas in a quiet ceremony in July. Monica, Bardem’s sister, spilled out that news of a baby on the way may be coming on soon.

It was only natural, she told Hola!, for people so much in love as Bardem and Cruz are.

And now the first Spanish actress to win an Academy Award is officially known to be pregnant: her rep confirmed to UsMagazine that she is on her fifth month.

Cruz’s baby bump was pretty much in evidence to everybody on the Puerto Rican set of the new Pirates of the Caribbean adventure, On Stranger Tides, where Cruz will be playing Angelica.

The couple struck it up at the shooting of the Woody Allen’s 2008 Vicky Cristina Barcelona which brought the Spanish actress a Best Supporting Actress Oscar.
