Sheryl Crow – Second Son Adopted
The year 2010 is highlighted for Sheryl Crow by the oncoming release of her seventh album 100 Miles from Memphis and the adoption of a second boy.
Her new adopted son, April-born Levi James, will make a younger brother to Wyatt Steven, adopted in 2007 when he was two weeks old. This news appeared on Crow’s official web site last Friday.
The Grammy winner who got over her engagement breakup and breast cancer treatment in the last five years is quite happy with her role of a single mother.
She used to cherish dreams common for all women about having a husband and a family, but when she discovered that it was not to be, she took it in her stride. “A family doesn’t always look like girl meets boy, they fall in love, they get married, they have a kid,” Crow shared with Parade two years ago. “I said, ‘OK, I’m going to let go of what I think things are supposed to look like, because I can’t control anything. When I try to control things, that’s when I keep things from happening.”
She claimed that little Wyatt had proved a great inspiration making her environment personal and helping her imbue her songs with that special touch of urgency. “Having him around, this little innocent spirit, really made me fearless about writing what I wanted to write and about not being afraid of who I was going to piss off,” she said.
Hopefully little Levi James will prove just as inspiring for the famous singer!
