Every 13th Pregnant Woman Consumes Too Much Alcohol
The US Center for Disease Control and Prevention carried out a study, which showed that every 13th pregnant woman drinks alcohol.
The most curious thing is that the more educated and older the expectant mother is, the higher the chances are that she will drink during pregnancy.
The study included 340 000 respondents aged 18 to 44. The research has shown that pregnant women aged 35 to 44 years are more prone to consume alcoholic beverages.
The specialists believe that there is not such a thing as “a safe dose of alcohol”.
Experts say that a drinking mother can harm the mental and physical development of the fetus. Therefore, women should stay away from alcohol for all 9 months of pregnancy, and, ideally, for a lifetime.
