Water Causes Male Infertility
The number of sperm cells in modern men constantly decreases because of the contraceptives contained in drinking water as well as the chemicals in some plastic items. This opinion was expressed by American scientists.
Female hormone estradiol has a far greater impact on sperm than bisphenol A. According to American scientists, the reduction in sperm cells number in men can be attributed to the fact that drinking water often shows traces of oral contraceptives that manage to pass through all the modern cleaning facilities.
Bisphenol A, which is an endocrine disruptor, also has its impact on male infertility. This component is often used in manufacturing plastic products, such as food containers, bottles and other containers, as well as special thermal paper for cash registers. The scientists from Washington State University have found that bisphenol A is able to disrupt the hormonal balance, increasing the risk of a number of health problems, including diabetes, obesity and cancer.
Moreover, they have discovered a direct relation between bisphenol A and the reduced production of sperm cells. According to the authors, the chemical substance breaks subtle DNA connections that are needed to create sperm. According to study author Dr. Pat Hunt, an even greater impact on this process is produced by estradiol – a hormonal contraceptive that successfully passes through the sewage filters.
Dr. Hunt is confident that it is this contraceptive in drinking water that is the main reason for the epidemic of male infertility. It is worth mentioning that science has been sounding the alarm on this issue since the early 1990s, when the Danish researchers reported on a sharp decline in male sperm cells over the last 50 years.
