Baby Teeth Care
Children’s dentist and former president of the Canadian Academy of Pediatric Dentistry Sarah Hulland warns that parents can infect their babies with tooth decay even when the child has not yet got its baby teeth.
Many parents believe that the first teeth fall out, so they are sure it is not necessary to treat them carefully. They think that baby teeth do not play a big role. Canadian scientists report about the results of their studies showing that the bacteria which cause tooth decay begin to accumulate in the mouth even before baby teeth erupt.
Dentists recommend brushing infant’s teeth and gums as early as possible. Doctors also believe that children’s dental health depends on the condition of their parents’ teeth. They found that dental caries is passed to younger generations.
