Pregnancy Life Changes
Pregnancy… This word brings so much joy! However, a lot of questions come to mind: what will your new life be like? Will you have to change your way of life considerably? And what exactly should be changed? What can remain the same?
Pregnancy is not a disease that is why one can forget about permanent rest, sympathy and doing nothing! However, some things should not be forgotten. Here you can learn what areas of your life you need to reboot and what useful habits you need to acquire for the next nine months.
Eating wholesome food
God ordered pregnant women to eat more fresh fruit and vegetables and drink natural juices! They can saturate in a good way (you only need to eat frequently, but in small portions) and replenish your body and the fetus with vitamins.
Walking outdoors
The benefits of walking and hiking daily are obvious (for the health of any person, not just a pregnant woman!). Your body will get more oxygen, and therefore it will come back to normal metabolism, improve the complexion, mood and health in general. Of course, you need to walk in the fresh air and not just along the road. With regard to time constraints, the doctors recommend walking at least 3 hours in summer (you can walk a few times), and not less than 1.5 hours in winter.
Physical activity
As already mentioned, pregnancy is not a disease, and physical activity should be present in the life of every pregnant woman. Of course, too active sports should be avoided: rollerblading, skating, snowboarding and skiing, biking, jogging, aerobics with jumping and belly dancing are forbidden.
Playing sports – football, volleyball, basketball, golf, badminton and tennis – should be avoided because of the high risk of trauma. What can a pregnant woman be engaged in since the list of banned sports is so great? Pilates, yoga, swimming or gymnastics are at your disposal, but under the supervision of an experienced instructor. If the belly is not visible yet – be sure to inform the instructor about being “in the family way”! Of course, choosing any of the approved sports, you should consult with your doctor.
Careful hygiene
Pregnant women should take a shower at least 2 times a day. Particular attention should be paid to the cleanliness of genitals. Women should use special soap.
Avoiding high temperatures
The sun is our friend, but not in this case. Pregnant women should rather avoid being in the sun. If you need to leave the house, it is better to go for a walk before midday or after 4 p.m. During pregnancy, you have to temporarily stop sunbathing and using the solarium. In addition, you should avoid stuffy rooms, baths and saunas.
Proper use of computer
It is difficult to imagine life without a computer today. Constant recommendations for pregnant women to limit the use of computers can be heard everywhere. To minimize its negative impact, take note of the following:
- It is better to use a laptop / netbook than a desktop computer;
- Make it a rule to have 10-15-minute breaks after every hour of work at the computer. During this time, it is advisable to stretch your legs, walk a little, and not just sit still;
- Make sure that the monitor is not less than 0.5 m from you.
Everyone can agree that the new habits are not difficult to follow, and some of them will be useful in your everyday life and after childbirth. Good luck!
