What Causes Miscarriage?

Scientists have discovered a potential cause of miscarriage. This finding could be a breakthrough in the medical science because it may serve as the basis for the development of new drugs to solve this problem radically.

Pregnant Woman Suffering from Candidiasis

As a result of laboratory tests, it was revealed that women with 3 or more miscarriages had increased levels of IL-33 molecules in the uterus. The doctors hope to be able to remove the above-mentioned molecules soon, as soon as they are detected in the body of a pregnant woman.

According to the scientists, these molecules determine the fact whether the embryo can survive in the womb. However, due to poor control of uterine receptivity of the women, who happened to have several miscarriages, they continued to be produced for the next ten days immediately after the process of conception.

The experiment also showed that the chemicals, produced by the body cells of the women, who had experienced several miscarriages, extended the period of ovulation, thereby provoking a miscarriage. Besides, the mucous membrane of the uterus was inflamed during pregnancy, and it would pose a serious threat for the development of a healthy fetus.

The embryo should be introduced into the mucous membrane of the uterus only during the period of ovulation, which lasts for a few days in a month immediately after the end of a full cycle. However, the today’s medical science is aware only of a few biological processes that control embryo implantation.
