Facebook Fans Give Their Child a Weird Name
The Facebook creators ought to have counted on the site’s worldwide popularity, but they hardly thought that it will be used for generating baby names. Nevertheless that’s what happened when a couple in Israel began to cast about for a name for their newborn child.
According to the parents, Lior and Vardit Adler, they wanted their daughter to have a name that would be unordinary in a modern way when they hit upon the idea to use the name for the Facebook button.
They fell for the idea at once, and as soon as they had found that there was no such name in the whole of Israel, the little girl was saddled with the name Like.
The parents do not look on it as a strange name at all, reasoning that it is a modern version of the common Jewish name Ahava which is the Hebrew word for “love.”
Like’s father Lior spills that their Facebook announcement enjoyed popularity and brought them 40 “likes” – whereas it may be easily outweighed by the opinion of the girl herself when she grows up!
