One of the Babies Born on 10/10/10 Showed Excellent Timing Sense: 10h10m10s
Quite a number of people had something to remember the much-talked-of date of 10/10/10 by, but there’s one little girl in Kingstanding, Birmingham, who marked not only the day, but also the time.
Niamh Bond saw the light of the most famous of October days at 10 o’clock and 10 minutes… And when one of the attending paramedics happened to glance at the clock, he was stunned to see it read 10 seconds as well!
To add to the marvelous coincidence, no-one expected little Niamh for another two months – hers was a premature arrival… Maybe she just couldn’t resist the temptation.
Niamh’s mom Keelie Hearne, 20, was surprised when the labors came on too early and she had to be taken to Good Hope Hospital on Saturday evening. And that was but the beginning of her surprises.
Keelie was astonished when it dawned on her that her baby was coming in the nick of time. Her partner Dean Bond was also there to share her surprise and joy – he got to the hospital at 10:00.
As the little tot came out completely (“She was progressing really well” according to Dawn Grix, delivery suite co-ordinator at Good Hope Hospital) and everybody suddenly took heed of the time, “I was gobsmacked,” said Keelie.
“It is quite unusual.” Dawn Grix commented. “She came down fully dilated and was pushing and we suddenly realized what the time was.”
Little Niamh, born 3lb 7oz, is Keelie’s first child, and the proud mum says she is “gorgeous”. For the present the time-minding little lady remains at the hospital, in the special care unit, where she will supposedly stay for another week.
