Stomach Cramps Occur to Be Labor Pains
Do we always know what’s going on in our lives? Well, it depends, and here is one lady who certainly didn’t, and was astonished a lot more than just one simple visit to a doctor warranted.
22-year-old Hannah Froud from Chaddesden, Derbyshire, went to hospital seeking relief from stomach ache she had been suffering from for a couple of days. She gaped when the doctors told her her ache is really a pregnancy! In seven hours she was a happy mother to daughter Jessica.
Froud, who works as a financial administrator, began to experience bouts of what she thought was stomach cramps some time in the beginning of February. At first she tried to ignore the pain, but it didn’t pass, and when she turned up for work the following Monday, her colleagues advised her to take care of it. So she went to the London Road Community Hospital in Derby – and had the surprise of her life!
She appeared in the hospital at 10 in the morning, was told to pass tests, one of which was for pregnancy, and then it was discovered that she was into her 36th week and was in labor! Froud’s boyfriend, a joiner by name Chris Bennett, 28, was contacted and told to visit her at the hospital. He arrived and arranger for Froud to be removed to the Royal Derby Hospital where she was delivered of a girl at 5 in the same afternoon.
When asked about her experience, the woman recounted that she didn’t bat an eyelid when she was told to take a routine pregnancy test – she was sure it was a mere formality. “Not long after that, they told me I was pregnant. I was completely speechless,” said Froud. “It was so strange – everything just happened. One minute I had stomach ache, the next I was being told I was having a baby.”
Then a nurse was dispatched to phone her boyfriend – he wasn’t informed what state she was in, just asked to come over. When he was finally told, he was stunned, and Froud recounts that he had to sit down at once!
The shocked parents had to fall back on the hospital stock for baby clothes.
Although the pregnancy hadn’t been what it is supposed to be, Jessica is reported to be a healthy and lovely girl. According to the mother, she doesn’t give any trouble being a sound sleeper.
For the time being, says Froud, she doesn’t feel any great changes, only the necessity to stay at home. But the couple is looking forward for the baby to grow up and begin to play with toys.
