Surrogate-Born Kids More Aggressive
Surrogacy is a modern method of assisted reproductive technology. The study, conducted by the British researchers, showed that surrogate-born children were more prone to aggression and depression than those who had been born in a traditional way, or using someone else’s biological material.
The scientists from the Centre for Family Research at Cambridge University have studied the data on 30 families, in which the children had been born with the help of surrogacy, 66 families, where the children appeared due to other reproductive technologies, and 53 families, where the children were conceived and born in a traditional way.
It turned out that the information about how they had been born produces painful impact on the emotional state of the children from the first group. They are more likely to suffer from fears, neuroses, aggression, and depression.
According to the American Society of Reproductive Medicine, the number of the children, born by surrogate mothers, is increasing rapidly.
