5 Tricks to Make Children Eat Fruits & Veggies
If your kid is fond of his or her fruit and vegetables, well and good, but if you have a little fastidious eater at home, it may be quite a problem to have them eating what is good for them. Still, there are ways to load your kid’s meal with a fair amount of the wholesome stuff.
1. Blend them out of recognition
Add fruits and veggies to the kid’s favorite breakfast after they have gone through the blender. Make pasta from spinach, carrots, and zucchini and use it for the sauce, treat your child to a fruit punch made from blended strawberries, apples, and kiwi.
2. Invent interesting shaping
You have cookie cutters with amusing shapes, use them on fruits and veggies. When you have got them shaped, go on and arrange the pieces into funny faces, other images or unusual patterns.
Don’t use only cookie cutters which make the same shapes, if you are handy with the knife, you can create more inventive and complicated pictures.
3. Cut them in pieces and dip
Use any liquid or semi-liquid food like yoghurt, melted chocolate, peanut butter for stuffing bits of fruits and veggies inside – you may find these dips delicious yourselves and devour them together with your kids!
4. Get your children in the kitchen to help you with cooking
When your young one is with you in the kitchen he or she will get interested and can be easily provoked into experimenting with stuff they generally dislike.
It will be more fun if you invent funny names for veggies, describe them in an uncommon fashion or give them names from the kid’s favorite movie or game. The meal will become a part of the show then.
5. Popsicles help get fruits and veggies down
Blending together pieces of fruits and yoghurt will take no more than a few minutes, and you have got a winning smoothie pop all done in bright colors. Here’s a quick and healthy snack for your children and you, too!
