How to Make Your Child Love Sports

Sports is what keeps us healthy. It is a truism, and most people try to incorporate physical activity into their schedule – whether it’s jogging, swimming in the pool, going to a gym, or even walking. But we often have to find this time for our health refusing something else, not less important, for example, we do not communicate with friends and family. However, there is a solution – you can involve them into sporting life.

Family Sports

American psychologists claim that joint exercises are beneficial for the whole family. Sport can become a common hobby, which brings the relatives even closer. In addition, it is beneficial to all participants. Adults can improve their vitality and improve the shape, and children can develop a taste for physical activities and receive a useful habit, which can stay with them for their lifetime.

And, most importantly, children will have a model: when sending their child to some sports club, parents sometimes believe that it is enough to take care of their offspring’s health. But children are often guided by what adults do, and if they see that mom and dad prefer to spend their evenings and weekends on the couch, they are unlikely to love sports. No wonder the British have a saying, which suggests spending not so much time on raising children for they will inevitably be like you.

How to Find Time for Physical Activities?

Psychologist Susan Bartell, the author of books on healthy living, says that the main obstacle to good intentions is lack of free time parents suffer from. Therefore, she suggests making a plan of actions for family fun and include it into your schedule, otherwise the dreams about joint sports activities might never come true.

By the way, according to Bartell, the family does not necessarily have to go to a swimming pool or a gym. One can spend their leisure time in active games that will replace sports. They include:
hide and seek (for example, in the park, in the open air);
snowballs;
dancing;
joint walks with the dog;
walking to buy food products;
just walking, if you get off the transport a couple of stops before the needed station.
