Hair Dyeing Tips for Pregnant Women

It is no secret that during pregnancy hair grows very well, it becomes brilliant, strong, thicker, and the hair bulb gets stronger.

Hair Dying Tips

This is due to the fact that the body increases the levels of the female hormone estrogen, which prolongs the life cycle of the hair. One can add eating right, taking vitamins and having a healthy lifestyle during pregnancy.

Dying your hair during pregnancy with permanent dyes is harmful for the baby. But that is no reason for you to stay with regrown hair roots for nine months. It would be ideal, of course, to take care of your hair before pregnancy, for example, to dye it in your natural color.

Allowed Hair Coloring Manipulations during Pregnancy:

  • to dye your hair with tinting shampoos, conditioners, or tonic.
  • to use dyes without ammonia while dying your hair.
  • to do highlighting and coloring or bronde your hair. With this method of dying, hair roots and the skin of your head are not exposed to chemicals.

Don’ts for Pregnant Women:

  • do not dye your hair with resistant dyes.
  • do not use anti-dandruff products.
  • do not make a perm. Chemical solutions penetrate the blood vessels through the skin of the head and can be transmitted to the fetus. A perm may simply not be possible due to hormonal changes in the body. The hair changes during pregnancy – it becomes stronger and less responsive to traumatic factors from the outside.

Pregnancy and Hair Information

  • The first trimester (first 12 weeks) is not the best time to dye hair anyway!
  • The resulting shade can differ from what you intended to see.
  • The dye may even fail to change the color of your hair.
  • Even if you have not previously had an allergic reaction, it is possible during pregnancy.
  • Be sure to wear gloves to avoid contact of the chemicals with the skin of your hands.
  • Keep the dye on the hair for the minimum time.
  • If you dye your hair on your own, do not forget to use a cotton-gauze face mask to avoid inhalation of dye fumes. In addition, you should dye your hair in a well-ventilated room.
