The researchers headed by Dr. Lindsay Gray held a long-term study, in which 20 thousand men participated voluntarily. It was found out that those men under test who had a high bodymass index at the age of 18, died of cancer in their adult life up to 35% more frequently than their peers who had normal weight. Obese people had a 50% greater lung cancer risk, which didn’t depend on the fact whether they were smokers.

Experts are alarmed about the situation, as the rising rates of obesity in the world today seem threatening.
