10 Per Cent of Parents Regret the Chosen Baby Name

Sadly, a study of over 1,000 parents revealed that nearly 10% of them came to regret their choice of the name for their child… Although they may have sweated over casting about for the right one at the time.

Anyhow, 8% of parents – a survey commissioned by YourBabyDomainName.com informs us – wish later that they had thought up some other name for their darling.

Most of those – about 53% – have now second thoughts about their kid’s first name because it had been popular back then, but now it’s no longer fashionable. A lesser number of parents – a third of the whole quantity – admitted that they had striven to select a unique name at the time, only to find that after a while the name became a more common one.

It also emerged that about 40% of parents have the name pat by the time the child is born, but some 6% admitted that the choice of the name had held them in a hot discussion for a week or longer.

A spokesperson for YourBabyDomainName.com summed up that the percentage of parents who have reasons to regret their choice of the baby’s name is fortunately relatively small. Yet the problem of trying to pick a special name that loses its unique value with the passing of time is really a strong enough reason for regret while it’s no fault of the parents.
